Runway shows, cultural shifts, and fashion industry trends were analyzed to gather data and synthesize to predict and describe a future trend. Report categories included colors, textiles, accessories, looks, development, demographics, and politics and culture as catalysts. Curating and communicating visual themes was the most crucial element of this report. A surprising aspect was the influence of non-fashion related culture– with people craving escape from political strain through playful design bringing about feelings of freeness. Nostalgia for simpler times brought upon people from the dominance of technology and societal issues leads young women to crave a time they never fully experienced as grown women, such as with
flower crowns and 2010’s color of the year returning.
